About Furrbaby Food Pantry
Furrbaby Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Georgetown, dedicated to helping families facing financial hardship keep their beloved pets fed, healthy, and at home.
While we are located in Georgetown, we proudly serve families throughout Central Texas and welcome anyone who walks through our doors in need of support.
We believe that hard times should never mean losing a cherished companion. Through the generosity of our community, we provide free pet food and essential supplies to help keep pets with the families who love them and out of overcrowded shelters.
Our local shelters are already overcrowded, and by helping families care for their pets during difficult times, we hope to be a resource that eases the burden on shelters while keeping more animals safely at home where they belong.
As a 100% donation-based and volunteer-run organization, we rely on the kindness of neighbors, local businesses, and supporters to make our mission possible. In addition to pet food, visitors can access free essentials such as bowls, collars, leashes, harnesses, litter, pee pads, treats, blankets, and more.
We also operate two on-site shops featuring secondhand and brand-new donated items available for a small donation. Every purchase directly supports our daily operations and helps fund emergency pet food purchases when donations run low.
Food assistance is available through a simple online request form, and our goal is to make getting help as easy, welcoming, and judgment-free as possible.
Each month, we help hundreds of families and more than 1,000 pets across Georgetown and surrounding communities. Every donation, volunteer hour, and shared post helps ensure that no pet goes hungry and no family has to say goodbye simply because times are tough.
The Furrbaby Food Pantry, established in 2021, began as a modest initiative focused on collecting pet food donations and distributing them from a front porch to those in need. Since then, we have grown into a fully operational non-profit organization serving a seven-city area. As the only organization of its kind in our region, we assist hundreds of families and their pets each month!
We gratefully accept pet supplies of all kinds—new, gently used, opened, or even expired items that can still be safely used to help pets in need.
From pet food and treats to litter, bedding, toys, crates, bowls, medications, and more, every donation helps us continue supporting families facing financial hardship.

From Humble Beginnings to Thriving Community Support
The Furrbaby Food Pantry began with just one open bag of food donated by a local shelter. As requests poured in, we started offering items for front porch pickup. To meet the growing need, we reached out to the community for donations to support those in need. Before long, the front porch pantry expanded into the front yard, until city regulations required us to find a new solution.
Thanks to the kindness of Tail Waggins Dog Bakery, we temporarily operated from their alley space. Eventually, we discovered the perfect rental location, where we proudly serve the community today. Our growth and success are only possible because of the incredible support from our community and the dedication of our amazing volunteers. Thank you for being part of our journey!
